Posters and beer mats as full of character as the pub
No two posters alike
The problem
The Victorian is a Halifax institution with an atmosphere so thick you can chew it: dark wood, wingback chairs and floor-to-ceiling bookshelves. Its events run all year, from Burns Night to Oktoberfest, and every one needs a poster, and the bar needs beer mats.
What Lewis designed
The pub’s identity is so well established that its print doesn’t need a rigid set of brand rules. That gives Lewis the freedom to treat every poster and beer mat as its own piece, matching the style to the mood of the event: traditional Victorian lettering for the tenth anniversary, louder and more modern layouts elsewhere.
Each piece still carries the pub’s name the same way, so the variety reads as one place with a lot going on. It’s work as eclectic as the pub itself, and it has been going since 2024.
