Check your site
This is a tool for your benefit, not a lead-generation tool
We don’t store the address you type or the results you get, we don’t log them, and we won’t look at them unless someone is abusing the tool. Nothing reaches us unless you choose to send it, through the contact form, with the results attached.
The one thing we can’t switch off is Cloudflare’s own record of requests to this site, which they keep as the host. We don’t read it, and it isn’t tied to a name.
What it looks at
-
Speed and page weight
How long the server takes to answer, how much a visitor has to download, and whether pages are compressed and cached.
What this means -
WordPress version
Whether the version your site announces is current, how many plugins it loads and which page builder it uses.
What this means -
PHP version
Whether the server runs a version of PHP that still gets security fixes.
What this means -
Https and security headers
Whether plain http sends people to the secure site, the standard security headers, and insecure files on a secure page.
What this means -
Google Fonts
Whether fonts are loaded from Google, which costs speed and sends visitors’ addresses to Google.
What this means -
The search basics
Title, description, language, image descriptions and a stray noindex that keeps a site out of Google.
What this means
What it can’t tell you
It looks from the outside only. It doesn’t log in, it doesn’t run your page in a browser, and it can’t see your hosting, your database or the code inside your plugins. A clean read-out doesn’t mean nothing’s wrong; a warning doesn’t always mean something is.
Under the results you can run Google’s detailed test, which does load the page in a real browser on a simulated phone. That one sends the address to Google.
If something in the read-out is worth a look, the first look from us is free. No charge, no obligation.
Tell us what it said
Send the results with a line about what’s bothering you. Lewis takes what looks wrong, Matt takes what works wrong, and one of us replies within one working day.
