Too often the answer to any website problem is a quote for a whole new website. Sometimes that’s right. Usually it isn’t, and you end up paying to rebuild a great deal that was working perfectly well.
We start by looking at what you have. If it’s sound, we fix it or add to it: Lewis takes what looks wrong, Matt takes what works wrong, and often it’s a bit of both. If it genuinely isn’t worth saving, we’ll say so, explain why and tell you what the alternatives cost.
If any of this sounds familiar
These are the sentences people open with. Each one has a fix, and most of them are smaller than you’d fear.
-
An update broke the site
We find the plugin or theme that didn’t survive it and mend or replace it.
-
It got slower after the host changed the PHP version
Usually one old plugin holding everything back. We find it.
-
It’s been hacked. Again.
Cleaned, updated, and the hole closed this time, with a plan so it stays closed.
-
Our developer has disappeared
We take over sites with no handover more often than you’d think. Nothing to be embarrassed about.
-
It only works if nobody touches it
We make it safe to touch: backups, version control, and someone who knows what’s in it.
-
The plugin that runs half the site hasn’t been updated in years
We tell you what it would take to replace it, and what happens if you don’t.
What people ask us to sort out
-
It’s broken or offline
Errors, blank pages, forms that send nothing, a checkout that won’t take money. Getting you working again comes first.
-
It’s slow, or got slower after an update
Matt measures before and after, strips out what isn’t needed and fixes what’s holding the pages back.
-
It’s been hacked, or it’s years behind
Cleaned up, updated and made safe, with a plan to keep it that way.
WordPress care -
It looks dated
Lewis can refresh the design, the typography and the layout of the site you have, without starting again, and make it easier for everyone to read and use.
-
It needs a new feature
Bookings, payments, a members’ area, a postcode checker. Built into your existing site, not sold as a new one.
Plugins & integrations -
Nobody can update it
If changing a sentence means calling a developer, we’ll make the parts you need editable, and show you how.
The first look is free. Small fixes are done at the day rate of £350 excluding VAT. Anything bigger gets a fixed quote, in writing, before work starts.
How fast can your site get?
It depends what it’s built on. Often a slow site can be made a good deal quicker without rebuilding anything: lighter images, less code loaded on every page, better caching. Matt measures first and tells you what’s realistic before you spend anything.
Some sites have a ceiling. A heavy page builder and a stack of add-on plugins bring a lot of code with them, and no amount of tuning will take that site to a perfect score. If top marks are what you want, those have to go, and that usually means a rebuild.
If you’d rather keep what they give you, that’s a reasonable choice, and we’ll get the site as quick as it can be on that footing. It’s more involved and it can cost more. Either way you’ll know the trade-off before you decide, and the decision is yours.
