A warm, server-free site for a 40-year-old builder
The problem
SKL Construction & Design has been building across London and the Home Counties for four decades. Their web presence didn’t reflect that: it was heavy, hard to update and cost money every month for hosting nobody was looking after.
They needed something light. A site that shows the work, says who they are, tells a visitor quickly whether SKL covers their area, and then gets out of the way. Nothing to maintain, nothing to patch.
What we built
A fully static site, hand-built and hosted on Cloudflare Pages with no server and no monthly fees. Photography of real jobs carries the design, and the copy leans into the warmth of a family firm with forty years behind it.
Analytics are cookieless and privacy-first, so there is no consent banner and nothing following visitors around. Every page carries structured data so search engines understand exactly what SKL does and where.
An instant answer to “do you cover my area?”
The most common question a builder gets asked is whether they work where you live. So the site answers it on the spot: type a postcode and it tells you immediately whether you are inside SKL’s catchment, on the edge of it, or outside.
It runs entirely in the browser with no lookup service behind it, so the answer is instant and nothing about the visitor leaves the page. It also quietly saves SKL from the enquiries they would have to turn down.
