A small firm, happily serving other small firms

We’ve been independent since 2018. We design and build websites, integrate systems, write custom WordPress and do some exceptional AI work, but the thread running through all of it is the same: we like helping small businesses get software and design that genuinely fits them.

We’re not trying to become a big agency. We like being small. It means you talk to the people who actually build your software, security and care are never afterthoughts, and we can stay for the long run.

    Sophie founded Bedford Coding and sets its direction. A dynamic, people-first business mind, she’s at her best building genuine relationships and getting to the bottom of what a client actually needs, often before they’ve quite put it into words. She makes sure every project starts with the right questions, and that the people behind it never get lost in the tech.

    Lewis is a graphic designer with over a decade of experience spanning brand, identity and editorial, from offline production to fully-digital platforms serving tens of thousands of people every day. As Bedford Coding’s design partner, he shapes the way our work shows up to clients: the visual world, the interface, the small details. His instinct is always for clarity over decoration, the kind of design that quietly helps people find what they need.

    Matt Bedford

    Consultant · Lead software architect

    Matt’s a PHP developer at heart, equally at home wiring up a tricky integration or designing the safety architecture for an AI system. He takes the lead on most Bedford Coding projects. He is able to translate complex tech features into human language to help customers understand and be in control of their projects. No mysteries, just clear and valuable tools to help your business work and grow.
